2.6 Alphoid Rhythms in Sleep and Social Functions
Presented by Darius Rountree-Harrison
This video details sleep spindles, sensory motor rhythm (SMR), mu, tau and lambda rhythms and their relations to sleep and social-motor functioning. The role of the thalamus reticular nucleus in generating these waveforms and their relationship to sleep, adaptive and maladaptive psychophysiological patterns are detailed. SMR is one of the main frequencies rewarded in neurofeedack therapy and this video will explain on a physiological level why this frequency band is so helpful psychologically.
